Opening Days and Times

The Museum is open 5 days a week from Wednesday through to Sunday between 10.00am and 4.00pm. We also open on Bank Holidays and at some other times during the year when children are on holiday. Details of these extra opening times are published on the website in advance.

The Museum is located at Woodlands Garden Centre, Ash Lane, Ash, West Kingsdown, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN15 7EG.

Parking 
Woodlands Garden Centre has a substantial parking area, but groups of Museum visitors arriving in coaches are requested to give prior notice of their intention to visit so that arrangements can be made.

Catering
The award winning “Twig and Spoon Restaurant” at Woodlands Garden Centre is open from 9.00am to 5.30pm daily. It is a very popular venue and visitors hoping to dine are advised to contact the restaurant on 01474 852788, in order to make a booking.

Accessibility
The entire Woodlands Garden Centre site is fully accessible and the Museum buildings are provided with wheelchair ramps.

Toilet Facilities
There are accessible toilets available in the Garden Centre and the Twig and Spoon Restaurant.

Play and Picnic Area
The Museum has a play and picnic area in front of the Museum buildings. There is a real Fire Engine for children of all ages to enjoy playing with and sitting in, and a fire engine inspired climbing frame as well as other attractions. There are many picnic tables in shady spots under trees and there is bark chipping over the whole area.

Group Visits
One of the key objectives of the Museum is to offer public education on the subject of fire, firefighting history generally and in Kent, and fire safety using the museum’s learning resources. The Museum has an Education Centre with audio visual technology, and can accommodate group visits by arrangement. Throughout the year, talks are also given to a variety of groups and societies either in person or by Zoom.
